Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the rotation deviation of a robot joint part from being transmitted between a rotor and a stator of an encoder and improve the life of the encoder by providing a rotating deviation absorption plate of an elastic thin plate structure which has a slit for absorbing the rotation deviation of the joint part, engraved therein. CONSTITUTION: A rotor 22 of an encoder 20 is fixed to the upper arm 12 of a robot and its stator 24 is fixed to a boss part 14a of the forearm 14 of the robot via a disc-shaped rotation deviation absorbing plate 32 having a slit engraved in the circumferential direction. The elastic expansion/contraction performance and the bending elasticity of the rotation deviation absorbing plate 32 prevent the rotation deviation of the robot joint part 10 from being transmitted to the rotor 22 and stator 24 of the encoder 20. A bearing 30 incorporated in the encoder 20 is thus prevented from being subjected to excessive load. As a result, the life of the encoder 20 is elongated and the rotation detection performance can be sustained.
