Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently measure a supported lens frame with high accuracy by supporting the lens frame in such a manner that one point on the arced locus of the lens frame coincides automatically with the prescribed plane inclusive of the intersected lines of an arced plane.
CONSTITUTION: The distances (d) from the vertex 501a of the arced groove of the spectacle frame to a side 151a and side 153a are respectively equal to each other and, therefore, the vertex 501a of the arced groove of the lens frame is automatically positioned on the datum plane created by ridge lines 219, 220 of both hands 211, 212 set at a prescribed of a supporting device 200 when a frame holding device part 100 holding the frame 500 is held in place between the above-mentioned both hands. The measurement of the lens frame is thereby efficiently executed with the high accuracy.
