Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a miscopying by automatically selecting a simultaneous- color mode by means of performing a moving operation which sets a range specifying device to a desired switch position and automatically releasing the simultaneous-color mode by means of moving a range specifying device to the outside of an original range in a scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:When simultaneous-color copying is performed, the range specifying device 40 sets the border of two colors, specifies a range of each color and selects and releases the simultaneous-color mode. That is, a lever 41 is provided on the side of an original glass 16 so that it can slide in a slide groove 45 along the scanning direction of a scanner 11. The knob part of the lever 41 is provided with a detecting switch 43 which outputs a signal for selecting the simultaneous-color mode. In the reference position of the tip part on the side of a starting point in the scanning direction of the slide groove 45, a reference position detecting switch 47 is provided which detects that the lever 41 places outside of the original range in the scanning direction and outputs a signal which releases the simultaneous-color mode.
