Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily change a shape of a terminal and to easily comply with an increase in the number of types by a method wherein a cylindrical cap which is inserted in a resistor is caulked on its circumference at its four faces, a sheet-like terminal is welded by making use of two angles out of its four angles and the cylindrical cap is welded to the sheet-like terminal so that a resistance can be manufactured by using a simple metal mold. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical caps 12 is inserted in a resistor 11. After that, individually facing caulking blades 14 caulk the cylindrical caps 12 in order to connect the cylindrical caps 12 to the resistor 11. After that, parts of the cylindrical caps 12 which have not been touched by the caulking blades 14 are squeezed out between the caulking blade 14 and the caulking blade 14; a protruding part 12a is formed. Sheet-like terminals 13 are welded by utilizing the protruding part 12a as a projection during a welding operation; a resistor shown in (a) and (b) is completed.
