CONSTITUTION:A recording material is composed of a substrate as a base material, a light-transmittable ink hold layer formed on the substrate, and a light-diffusing ink carry layer formed on the ink hold layer. The ink hold layer is of 1-50mum thickness. The ink carry layer is constructed to have at least one layer and made of porous particles having non-dyeing properties to a dye and a binder. The ink carry layer is composed by selecting a material having wetting, infiltrating, and diffusing characteristics etc., to a liquid medium in an ink and failing in dyeing and reacting characteristics etc., to a dye. The ink hold layer has an ink absorbency larger than that of the ink carry layer in order to stably absorb and trap the ink temporarily absorbed into the ink carry layer.
