Claims

[Claims for Utility Model Registration] (1) Lifting means that controls lifting and lowering of the magnetic head relative to the magnetic disk by operating a flexible support member that supports the magnetic head, and a driving source for the lifting means. A magnetic disk device comprising: a lifting motor; and a transmission mechanism that reduces rotation of the lifting motor and transmits the rotation to the lifting means. (2) The transmission mechanism includes an actuating member, and the actuating member engages with the head positioning means to move the magnetic head toward the outer circumference of the disk when the magnetic head is raised, and engages with the head positioning means when the magnetic head is lowered. 2. The magnetic disk device according to claim 1, wherein the magnetic disk device is disengaged from the magnetic disk device to permit its operation. (3) The magnetic disk device according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the lifting motor can be driven by regenerative power of the magnetic disk motor. (4) Utility model registration claim 1, comprising means for detecting the lifting or lowering of the magnetic head to a predetermined state by the lifting means and stopping the driving of the lifting motor.
