Abstract
PURPOSE:To allow a great quantity of processing liquid to flow in the processing gap and stabilize processing by using as wire electrode a tube electrode with a number of holes bored at its side face, and surrounding the area around the portion mating with a work to be processed with nozzles for processing liquid. CONSTITUTION:A tube electrode 1 consists of a tubing of 0.2-1mm in dia. made of Cu, Bs, etc. and perforated wit a beam from a laser oscillator 7. When wire cutting is made while this tube electrode 1 is moved along a guide 2 within an upper and a lower nozzle 5 for processing liquid, a pump 6 supplied the processing 1 liquid to the nozzles 5. Now the processing liquid is jetted around the tube electrode 1, and at the same time, jetted out of the tube electrode 1 into the processing gap formed to the work 3. Thus discharge processing is performed by impressing voltage pulses from a processing power supply 4. Accordingly a great amount of processing liquid can be supplied to the processing gap, that has cooling effect, splash removing effect, etc. to accomplish stable discharge processing with high speed, high efficiency, and high precision.
