Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a predetermined closed room or a multiplicity of closed rooms to be automatically disinfected by a method wherein the amount of germicide required for the capacity of the closed room is calculated by an arithmetic means and the calculated amount of the germicide required is supplied to a germicidal gas generator. CONSTITUTION:The room capacity of a clean room 1a and a species of germs to be sterilized are inputted to a controller 8. Then, the amount of a formalin solution required is calculated from both the inputted data and the data stored in advance in a storage unit, and on the basis of the calculated amount of formalin required, a control signal is produced from a control unit to operate a pump 4 and also to open a valve 6a, whereby a formalin solution is sent from a formalin solution tank 3 to a formalin gas feeding means 2a via a formalin solution supply tube 5. In this instance, the supply flow rate of the formalin solution is measured by a flow meter 7a, and the supply amount thus measured is integrated at the controller 8. When the integrate supply amount reaches the level of the calculated amount of the formalin solution required, the valve 6a is closed and the operation of the pump 4 is also stopped, while the formalin solution is gasified by the formalin gas feeding means 2a.
