PURPOSE:To easily detect the disconnection accident of a multicore cable in a short time by connecting core parts for disconnection detection of plural multicore cables mutually in series and constituting a loop shape on the whole, and supplying an earth current to the loop circuit. CONSTITUTION:Parts 1a of cores of each multicore cable 1 are assigned for cable disconnection detection. The parts 1a are connected mutually in series prior to measurement to form the loop circuit 2. When the earth current 5 supplied to the circuit 2 is led to the light emitting element 11A of a photocoupler 11, the light emitting element 11A lights and the photocoupler 11 outputs a specific conduction signal A, so that it is recognized that the multicore cable has no break. If the cable is broken, the earth current does not flow to a disconnection detecting circuit 10 and the output signal A of the photcoupler 11 is ceased. Consequently, the disconnection of the cable is securely known.
