Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a printed circuit substitutable for an optical circuit by forming an optical waveguide composed of a polymer material having high refractive index on the laminated surface of a laminated sheet composed of two layers of polymer materials each having low refractive index. CONSTITUTION:The titled circuit is formed by drawing the optical waveguide circuit 2 composed of the polymer material having high refractive index (nD) of >=1.47 on a substrate sheet 1 composed of the polymer material having low refractive index (nD) of 1.34-1.41, and by coating said optical waveguide circuit with the polymer material having low refractive index. For the polymer material having low refractive index, a homopolymer of a fluorine contg. monomer such as vinylidene fluoride, tetrafluoroethylene or 1H,1H-trifluoroethyl(meth) acrylate or (meth)acrylate having -COO(CH2)n(CF2)mX (X=H or F) as a side chain, etc., or a copolymer of said fluorine contg. monomer and ethyl acrylate or butyl acrylate, etc., can be used. And, for the transparent polymer material having refractive index (nD) of >=1.47, polystyrene or polycarbonate, etc., can be used. Thus, the printed circuit can be substituted for the optical circuit.
