Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable removal of a coating film thickened on the lower end of a substrate without inducing deterioration of coating conditions and the like by transferring the viscous coating fluid from the lower end of the substrate to a member for removing the drops of the coating fluid, bringing the member into a tightly enclosed vessel, evacuating the vessel, and peeling the adhering matter from the surface of the member. CONSTITUTION:The viscous coating fluid remains thickened on the lower end of the cylindrical substrate 1 immediately after pulling it out of the coating fluid relatively in the axial direction before drying the fluid, and it is removed by placing the substrate 1 on the member 11 for removing the drops of the fluid and taking the substrate 1 apart from the member 11. The member 11 having received the fluid from the lower end of the substrate 1 is brought into the tightly enclosed vessel 12, and the vessel 12 is evacuated, and the adhering matter is peeled off from the top of the member 11 to clean the member 11, thus permitting the coating film 3 thickened on the lower end of the cylindrical substrate 11 to be easily removed without inducing deterioration of the coating conditions due to variance of film thickness and dust attaching.
