Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the shelf-life and the stain in an image immediately after processing, by developing a photosensitive material which is specified by the degree of swelling in a photographic layer mounted on a reflection supporting body, with a color developer which contains a N-hydroxyalkyl substd.-p-phenylene diamine derivative, and by specifying the total processing time in a wash processing step. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive material which has the degree of swelling of 1.5-4.0 in the photographic layer mounted on the reflection supporting body, is developed with the color developer which contains the N-hydroxyalkyl substd.-p-phenylene diamine derivative. The wash processing time is reduced in such way that the total processing time of the wash processing step in a development processing is 30-110sec. And, the wash processing time is meant by the time from bringing the photosensitive material into contact with a washing water to that of bringing said material to a dry zone which is a final step. When the wash processing time is <30sec, even when the degree of swelling of the photographic layer is in a range of 1.5-4.0, it is not preferable to raise the yellow stain of the image immediately after processing or after the lapse of time. Thus, the deterioration of the stain in the image immediately after processing can be prevented without injuring the shelf-life of the image.
