Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of crack in a thick applied layer and to increase rate of curing by using specified acrylic emulsion in an elastic mortar composition contg. synthetic polymer emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The mortar composition is prepd. by compounding water with a mixture of portland cement, ultra high-early-hardening cement, rubber powder and synthetic polymer emulsion. As the emulsion above-mentioned in the composition, the acrylic polymer emulsion is used and copolymer emulsion obtd. by emulsion-polymerizing a mixture of monomer consisting of the following a-d with nonionic emulsifier: (a) 55-90wt.% acrylic acid alkyl ester having 4-8C alkyl group; (b) 5-40% acrylonitrile and/or styrene; (c) 1-10% (meth)acrylic acid; (d) 1-10% one or more kinds of 2-hydroxyethyl (meth)acrylate, 2- hydroxypropyl (meth)acrylate and (meth)acrylamide.
