Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a dense superconductor having zero resistance at the b.p. of liquid N2 by consisting as primary component of a first component consisting of Y, a second component consisting of Sr, Ca, etc., and a third component consisting of Cu, Zn, etc., and O as secondary component, and regulating the content of each component. CONSTITUTION:The superconductor of this invention contains the above described first component (A1), second component (A2), and third component (A3) defined each by the inequalities: 10<=A1<=60 atom.%, 20<=A2<=65 atom.%, and 30<=A3<=65 atom.%, having K2NiF4 structure contg. rhombic crystals. Said superconductor is obtd. by prepg. granulated powder obtd. by mixing the above described components. The granulated powder is then compression-molded and sintered at 950-1,200 deg.C in oxidizing atmosphere to obtain an aimed superconductor. The superconductor of thin invention becomes perfectly superconductive at the b.p. of liquid N2 (77K), so the superconductor is useful particularly in the field of resistance relating to electric power industry, transportation industry, etc. or to precise measuring element, etc.
