Abstract

PURPOSE: To strengthen a visual impression to be given to a listener and to visually grasp a sound volume level by changing the shape or area of a display pattern displayed on a display means consisting of plural display elements in accordance with a volume level.
CONSTITUTION: The display device consists of a display means 31 arranging a plurality of display elements, a storage means 35 for storing the display data of a plurality of display patterns of which shapes or areas are respectively different and a display control means 39 for reading out each display pattern in accordance with a volume level detected by a volume level detecting means. Consequently the shape or area of a two-dimensional display pattern displayed by the means 31 is changed in accordance with a volume level, a visual impression applied to a listener is strengthed and the volume level can be visually easily grasped.
