Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure fitting of a packing by engaging a stopper ring for use in fitting the packing on the periphery of a connector housing and then fitting the packing. CONSTITUTION:After a terminal 2 is inserted into a connector housing 1 from an opening part 1A, a front cap 19 is inserted into a front part of the housing 1 and assembled. Next a fitting bump part 3A of a housing lance 3 is made to drop into a fitting hole 4 of the terminal 2. When the cap 19 is squeezed more inside, a fitting bump part 17A of a terminal fitting piece 17 is made to slide along an outer surface of the housing 1 and moved to be inserted into the fitting hole of the housing 1 and fitted to the fitting part 2A of the terminal 2. Squeezing the cap 19 permits a stopper ring 18 to be also squeezed along the periphery of the housing 1. Movement of the ring 18 allows a packing 9 to be pushed inside, so that the packing 9 is interposed between the linkage part 8 and the ring 18.
