Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of products by providing identification codes to both racks and products, and reading both codes at the time of storage to prepare a data file making a pair of both codes, so that when products are thereafter taken out or stored, the product identification code can be read from this data file to determine the rack in which the product is stored or to be stored. CONSTITUTION:When a product P is newly stored in a rack 2, a rack identification code RC and a product identification code PC are read respectively by a hand type code scanner 12 before it is stored in each rack. In this case, respective identification codes of the rack and the product P are input and stored in a storage device 9 making a pair of both codes. Then, when the product P is to be taken out, if only the product number is input by means of keys 11, the rack number is read out from the storage device 9 to move a moving mechanism 3 so as to take out the product from a prescribed rack. When the product is to be stored, if only the product is loaded on a transfer device 4, a code scanner 5 reads the identification code PC, and the rack to be stored is read out from the file of the storage device 9 to transfer the product to the rack. Thus, the control can be facilitated.
