Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain vivid hue by employing two layers for insulation materials around a conductor or for sheaths around an insulated core wire, with the outer layer containing 50W200pts.wt. of inorganic hydrate and coloring agent against 100pts.wt. of polyolefin to make a flame-retardant composition containing no red phosphorus.
CONSTITUTION: An insulation member around a conductor or a sheath around an insulated core wire is made of two layer construction of inner and outer layers, with the inner layer formed with flame-retardant composition containing 20W200pts.wt. of inorganic hydrate and 0.5W20pts.wt. of red phosphorus against 100pts.wt. of polyolefin, and with the outer layer formed with a flame-retardant composition containing 50W200pts.wt. of inorganic hydrate and coloring agent against 100pts.wt. of polyolefin without containing red phosphorus. Since the red phosphorus, though it is a flame-retardant material, is hard to obtain vivid hue as it is red, it is used in the inner layer only. This makes it possible to obtain a cable capable of showing a light hue vividly as well as preventing toxic gas from being produced.
