Abstract
PURPOSE:To compensate for an irregularity of recording density by applying the first application power which works short of printing to a heat generating element recording an image information judged as a specific pattern, and supplying the second application power to a heat generating element which corresponds to an image signal for the existing image information. CONSTITUTION:A judgement circuit 4 outputs a signal m when it judges the pattern of image signals k which are read by a single line of signals as a specific pattern, and reads out until a final line. When this reading is completed, a control part 8 issues a printing start signal o to a pulse generation circuit 5, and generates a pulsed signal q with the first pulse width Pa. The first pulse width Pa is set to such an extent that an application power given to a heat generating element is adequate but does not start printing. When a final line writing end signal n is issued, a pulsed signal r with the second pulse width Pb is generated. The second pulse width Pb is set in such a manner that a supplied application power is adequate to allow the heat generating element receiving the first application power to reach a temperature at which recording paper develops color without fail.
