Then, a printing system generating an error is changed over to a normally operable printing system and a page is fed and a proper error message is selected from a ROM 11 having an error message stored therein and written in the page memory 2 of a printing system generating no error to be printed. Thereafter, the printing operation of a printing apparatus is stopped to stand by until an error generating cause is removed and normal printing becomes possible.
