Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a lightning protection element from being deteriorated with humidity and improve durability and reliability by forming both upper and lower electrodes with conductive ceramic, and making bond-fixing between an attachment cylinder part and the electrodes secure, thereby securing airtightness.
CONSTITUTION: An upper electrode 11 and a lower electrode 12 both made of conductive ceramic are bond-fixed with low melting point glass 13 to the upper and lower end parts of an attachment cylinder 5d. This makes the attachment cylinder 5d and the upper and lower electrodes 11, 12 is a body to improve the watertightness inside the attachment cylinder 5b, to prevent a lightning protection element 9 from being deteriorated with humidity, and to improve both durability and reliability. Since it is not necessary to provide on the electrodes 11, 12 cut parts for inserting lead wires 17, 18, this is also a favorable condition for maintaining airtightness. With this constitution, structure is simplified and it is possible to improve reliability of the lightning protection element.
