Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily remove water from sewage contg. Fe<3+> and a large amt. of water with the title processing reagent by mixing an oxidizing agent, a compd. contg. a carboxyl group, and/or its alkali salt to obtain the reagent. CONSTITUTION:The sewage contg. a large amt. of water is treated with the reagent contg. an oxidizing agent, a compd. contg. a carboxyl group, and/or its alkali salt, and further treated with an Fe<3+> supplying reagent to oxidize, decompose, adsorb, flocculate, settle, and then dehydrate the contaminant in the sewage. Alternatively, the sewage is treated with an oxidizing agent, and then treated with an Fe<3+> supplying reagent and a reagent contg. a compd. contg. a carboxyl group and/or its alkali salt to oxidize, decompose, adsorb, flocculate, and then dehydrate the contaminant in the sewage.
