Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce cost and enable 8 printer to be used in the same manner as an ordinary printer at the time of printing on one side of a paper, by detachably fitting a paper-inverting means to a main body of the printer so that both ends of a loop form paper passage of the means are opposed to one end of a paper passage in the main body of the printer. CONSTITUTION:With a paper-inverting means 44 fitted to a main body 30 of a printer, a paper printed on the face side thereof by a printing head 31 is transferred from a paper passage 33 in the main body 30 into a loop form paper passage in the paper-inverting means 44 by a first transferring means (rollers 41, 42 and rollers 39, 40). The paper is inverted by the loop form paper passage 46, is again transferred into the paper passage 33 in the main body 30 of the printer, and is printed on the back side thereof by the head 31. With the paper-inverting means 44 detached, a paper is printed on only one side thereof, and is discharged from the main body 30 of the printer.
