Abstract

PURPOSE:To immediately cut off a follow current after an arc is formed and prevent a power outage accident by fitting a gas spraying means spraying the insulating gas to extinguish the arc to the tip of a horn main body. CONSTITUTION:A gas spraying means such as a gas cylinder 8 sealed with the insulating gas is fitted to an expanded section 7 at the tip of a horn main body 6. When an arc is generated, an arc flowing path is formed through a fuse 11 protruded from the tip of an insulating cover 9 at its head, the gas cylinder 8, and the horn main body 6, thus the fuse 11 and the projection 14, thin section 15 or sealing section 16 at the tip of the gas cylinder 8 are melted by the arc current, and the insulating gas in the gas cylinder 8 is sprayed forward through a gas discharge hole 10 at a high speed. The insulating gas thus sprayed immediately extinguishes the arc by the high-speed high-pressure gas flow, and a follow current that the arc tends to flow along the formed path is cut off. A power outage accident caused by the operation of a circuit breaker at a transformer station or the like due to the follow current of a large current is thereby prevented.
