Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect accurately the imperfection of coat in adhesive coating, by detecting that the data on the image of a coated area are divided in the direction of the width of a belt. CONSTITUTION:The data on the image of a coated surface whereon adhesive coating is applied in the shape of a belt substantially are read by a sensor 22 and stored in an image memory 26 through a buffer memory 25. These image data are processed by a binary-coding element 28, an edge detecting element 29 and a contour detecting element 30 and then inputted to an imperfection determining element 31. This imperfection determining element 31 divides the image data into those of an uncoated area and those of a coated area and detects the imperfection of coat by detecting that the image data of the coated area are divided in the direction of the width of the belt.
