Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thin film magnetic head which obviates a decrease in effective magnetic permeability by constituting a part of magnetic poles of laminated magnetic films formed by connecting respective ferromagnetic material films and other ferromagnetic materials with a ferromagnetic material. CONSTITUTION:The ferromagnetic material 4 connecting the ferromagnetic material layers 2, 2 disposed via a nonmagnetic material 3 form a short circuit magnetic path together with the laminated respective ferromagnetic material layers 2. A reflux magnetic flux is thereby formed between the ferromagnetic materials 2 and 2 and a demagnetizing field is hardly generated in the side end part of the ferromagnetic material layers 2 to which the ferromagnetic material 4 sticks. Reflux magnetic domains are no longer formed within the plane of the ferromagnetic material layers 2 and the decrease in the effective magnetic permeability, the reduction in effective track width and the generation of Barkhausen noises by the generation of triangular magnetic domains are eventually suppressed. Since the respective ferromagnetic material layers 2, 2 are bonded by the ferromagnetic material 4, the effect of multi-layered film formation which compares favorably with the effect of a magnetic head optimized in the film thickness of the nonmagnetic intermediate later is obtd. by the conventional technique.
