Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent spread of water leakage by arranging a suction means sucking internal water drops on an upper cover among water drops generated when ultrahigh pressure water jetted from a nozzle crashes against a workpiece while the workpiece is clamped by means of the upper cover and a lower cover and arranging a drain port in the lower cover. CONSTITUTION: When an upper cover 15 is lowered along a nozzle 1 by means of an air cylinder 15 so as to be brought into pressure contact with a workpiece 3, the workpiece 3 is clamped by means of the upper cover 15 and a lower cover 17. Then, ultrahigh pressure water 2 is jetted from the nozzle 1 so as to crash against the workpiece 3 for cutting it, and the inside of the upper cover 15 is filled with water drops generated according to the crash. Under this condition, a vacuum pump 18 is driven, so that the water drops filling the upper cover 15 inside is sucked with air sucked via air holes 15-4 arranged at the tip of the upper cover 15 so as to be caught by means of a filter 20. At the same time, leaking water generated on the back face side is received by means of the lower cover 17 so as to be drained from its drain port. As a result, spread of water drops and water leakage to the workpiece 3 can be prevented while vibration in cutting can be reduced.
