Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent free drop by providing a pair of side plates, a pulley supported at the center between them, a return preventing lever, and a brake lever. CONSTITUTION: Ropes 10 for hanging cargo are wound on a pulley 2, and one of the ropes 10 hangs the cargo through a first rope guide roller 4 and via a hook, etc., while the other rope 10 is gripped by an operator via a second rope guide roller 5. The ropes, hanging metal fittings, and the like are hooked to the hanging lock pin 8 of a return preventing lever 3 and entirely held suspended. Therefore, the overall weight including the cargo causes rotation of a return preventing pawl 3a at the end of the return preventing lever 3 in the direction to be strongly pressed against the ropes 10 for the hanging cargo, thus providing a return preventing force to prevent the cargo from dropping; i.e., even if the ropes 10 for the hanging cargo are released, the weight of the cargo itself serves as the return preventing force to works on the ropes 10 for the hanging cargo to prevent free drop.
