Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title flame-retarding and low-smoking composition which is easily caked by sintering when forcibly brunt, by mixing a chlorinated vinyl chloride resin with a softening agent and a flame retarder. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. chlorinated vinyl chloride resin (A) of a chlorine content of 60-72wt.% and a specific viscosity >=0.24, obtained by post- chlorinating a vinyl chloride resin of an average degree of polymerization >=1,100 is mixed with 40-150pts.wt. plasticizer of an oxygen index >=19 (e.g., chlorinated paraffin of a chlorine content of 30-50%) and/or elastomer (B) (e.g., chlorinated PE) as a softener, 20-300pts.wt. at least one flame retarder (C) of a mean particle diameter of 0.2-100mu, selected from among CaCO3, Na2 SiO3, SiO2, a metal oxide (e.g., TiO2), a metal hydroxide [e.g., Al(OH)3], a metallic powder, melamine cyanurate and mica to obtain a flame-retarding flexible resin composition of a JIS hardness A<=98.
