Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a clutch mechanism, by providing a moving control part which has an engaging claw, engageable with the claw of a rotation member, and is movable between first and second positions through movement of other part along with rocking of a rocking member. CONSTITUTION:When an electromagnetic means 86 is in an energized state, the upper end of a rocking member 88 is deviated leftward through the action of a pair of coil springs 112. Since the upper end part of the rocking member 88 is coupled with the other end part of a moving control member 16, the moving control member 16 is positioned in a first position as shown by a solid line. Thus, an engaging claw 78 situated to the moving control member 16 is engageable with a first claw 48 formed to a rotation member 14. Engagement therebetween prevents rotation of the rotation member 14. In this case, even when a sprocket 6 is rotated, the rotation force thereof is prevented from transmission to a shaft member 4. The moving control member 16, to which the engaging claw 78 is situated as described above, enables ensurance of a high stroke through rocking in a relatively narrow range of the rocking member 88, resulting in the possibility to reduce the size of the clutch mechanism 2.
