Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the liquid permeability of a porous graphite plate and to make it uniform by specifying the bulk density of a porous graphite plate forming a positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrode is made of a porous graphite plate having a bulk density of 0.45g/cm<3> or less. The gas permeability of the whole positive plate is increased, and the deviation or dispersion of liquid permeability can be minimized. In addition, since the distribution of the amount of permeated liquid is made uniform, voltage efficiency is increased. Since the reaction on the interface of an electrode is made uniform, current efficiency is increased.
