Conventional matrix-type light-emitting diode displays in which light-emitting diodes are arranged vertically and horizontally reduce brightness when the light-emitting diodes are arranged on a flat surface, so attempts were made to use a reflective frame, but since it is difficult to assemble a reflective frame, As shown in the figure, recesses 22, 22... were formed in a substrate 21, and light emitting diodes 25, 25... were inserted and fixed therein. However, in this insertion and fixing process, it is difficult to apply conductive adhesive or solder, and the light emitting diodes 25, 25... may be placed diagonally or the light emitting diodes 25, 25... Even if the light emitting diodes 25, 25 are chipped or there is a lighting defect, etc.
... is less than 0.5 mm on one side, so the tweezers are in the recess 22,

This invention was made in consideration of the above points,
Figure 2 shows the brightness distribution (BD) of the light emitting diode 20.
However, it takes advantage of the fact that the brightness is higher when viewed from diagonally upward directions b and b than from directly above a, and the present invention will be described in detail below based on embodiments.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a light emitting diode display according to the first embodiment of the present invention, in which 1 is a substrate made of ceramic, glass-reinforced plastic, etc., and has V grooves 2, 2, etc. aligned on its surface. On the slopes of the V-grooves 2, 2... are provided row electrodes 3, 3... having light emitting diode mounting pads, and row electrodes 4, 4... having wire pads. 5, 5... are light emitting diodes made of gallium phosphide or the like, which are placed and fixed on the light emitting diode mounting parts of the row electrodes 3, 3... on the slopes of the V grooves 2, 2... with conductive adhesive, etc. ,6...
etc. are wired to the row electrodes 4, 4, . . . .

In the above-described structure, the V-grooves 2, 2... are much more open when viewed from above than the conventional recesses 22, 22..., which not only makes it easier to handle the work jig, but also makes it easier to handle the light emitting diodes 5, 5. It is easy to manufacture because the state of ... can be visually observed. Furthermore, since the direction b of the light emitting diode 5 in FIG. 2 faces directly upward, the brightness is improved. Incidentally, if the slopes on which the light emitting diodes 5, 5, . In addition, in the above example, V grooves 2, 2
... were provided in the column direction, but if they were provided in the row direction, mounting pads would be provided on the column electrodes. This makes it possible to apply and print a strip of conductive adhesive, etc., which not only makes it easy to apply and print, but also reduces the resistivity of the electrodes used on such substrates, which are generally thin films and have a high specific resistance. .
