Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase corrosion resistance by using a stainless steel plate containing cerium or titanium in addition to aluminum and chromium in a frame for wet sealing. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel plate containing cerium or titanium in addition to aluminum and chromium is used in each frame 52A, 52B for wet sealing. These stainless steel is heat treated at about 1000 deg.C before use. By this heat treatment, aluminum in the stainless steel moves to its surface and deposits there to form a strong aluminum layer and a part of the aluminium is oxidized to form alumina which is resistant to the molten salt in a cell.
