Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the degree of freedom in filter designing, and at the same time, to make a device be of a high frequency band by arranging input side interdigital electrodes and output side interdigital electrodes so that the propagation paths of surface acoustic waves to be received and excited by them are adjacent to each other, and adding dummy electrodes so as to be orthogonally adjacent to the propagation paths of the surface acoustic waves caused by the interdigital electrodes, and in addition, to be positioned on the propagation paths of the surface acoustic waves of other sides. CONSTITUTION:The interdigital electrodes 12, 14 for inputting and outputting are formed zigzag respectively on a substrate 11, and the dummy electrodes 13, 15, consisting of plural parallel conductors connected to each other at their both ends, are formed zigzag as adjoining to the electrodes,12, 14. The dummy electrodes 13,15 are positioned on the propagation paths of the surface acoustic waves of the interdigital electrodes 14, 12 of other sides. A figure shows the mixture of a multiple mode surface acoustic wave filter using the lateral coupling of the surface acoustic wave by an acoustic coupling, and the surface acoustic wave filter using longitudinal coupling. Thus, the number of parameters is increased, and the degree of freedom is raised. Further, if the lateral coupling and the longitudinal coupling are successfully arranged at the design, the device can be made to be of high frequency band.
