PURPOSE:To remove signal deterioration which has occurred on a transmission path and fluctuation in an amplifier level which has occurred due to the difference of multilevels by controlling a level in the signal of high definition, which is multiplexed in a TV signal in accordance with the amplifier value of a pilot signal inserted into the TV signal of high definition. CONSTITUTION:The TV signal of high definition S0 in which the pilot signal P is multiplexed in a prescribed period is decoded in the decoder 20 of a TV receiver. The signal S0 is supplied to the switching circuit 32 of the decoder 20, and a gate pulse G2 extracts and separates the pilot signal P. An amplifier measurement unit 33 detects the peak level PL of the signal P which is extracted and separated and it is supplied to a regulator 34. A level control signal in which the amplifier level of the signal P is normalized to a previously set reference level RL is outputted from the regulator 34. The level control signal turns into RL/PL.
