Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate use for a small electrical appliance and to simplify the assembly of the appliance by accommodating a solar cell and a storage battery in a cylindrical container, and installing a cathode terminal in one sealing part of the container and an anode terminal in the other sealing part. CONSTITUTION:A solar cell 6 and a storage battery 5 are accommodated in a container 4 so that eccentric parts in the cathode side end and the anode side end are engaged with a cathode projection 3a and an anode projection 2a of the container 4 respectively. A cylindrical battery 1 obtained is accommodated in the battery compartment of each of various small electrical appliances and used as a power source. When charge is required, only the cylindrical battery 1 is taken out from the battery compartment, and laid down on a desk exposed to the sun. Since light receiving surface 10 is exposed to the sun through the light transmission surface of the container 4, the output of the solar cell 6 is supplied to the storage battery 5 through a diode 11 for charging. After charging, the battery 1 is returned to the battery compartment and used again as the power source of the appliance.
