Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce equipment and operation costs by a method wherein only the first gas to be treated, which has a high concentration of odorous components, is treated by means of a direct combustion type deodorizing unit and only the second gas to be treated, which has a low concentration of said components, is treated by means of a catalytic type deodorizing unit. CONSTITUTION:A feed pipe passage 2 for the first gas to be treated, which has a high concentration of odorous components, communicates with a direct combustion type deodorizing unit 3 to make the first gas to be treated odorless. An exhaust passage 4 extended from the deodorizing unit 3 communicates with a mixer 5, while a feed pipe passage 7 for the second gas to be treated, which has a low concentration of odorous components, communicates with the mixer 5. High-temperature exhaust gas and the second gas to be treated are mixed in the mixer 5 to preheat the second gas to be treated. A filter 9, a heat exchanger 10 and a catalytic type deodorizing unit 11 communicate with a mixed gas feed passage 8 extended from the mixer 5, and the mixed gas is preheated in the heat exchanger 10 by the high-temperature exhaust gas supplied from the catalytic type deodorizing unit 11 to apply deodorization treatment to the second gas to be treated with the aid of a catalyst 11a.
