Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled material free from thinning when dried, resistant to crack development, good in applicability, suitable as e.g. putty for window frame, consisting chiefly of a crystallization-retardant alpha-olefin. CONSTITUTION:The objective material can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a crystallization-retardant alpha-olefin with a softening point of 70-150 deg.C and melt viscosity at 180 deg.C of <=100,000cps with (B) <=100pts.wt. of a tackifying resin (e.g., rosin) and/or (C) <=300pts.wt. of a plasticizer. This material has a pot life of 3min-3hr, giving such hot-melt feature that when heated to 60-100 deg.C, it becomes a semi-molten state capable of plastic deforma tion at a pressure of <=1kgf/cm<2>, but solidifies again when cooled to normal temperature.
