Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize damage in the case of occurrence of dielectric breakdown, by juxtaposing insulated conductors between outer semiconductive layers with metallic plates in between and next disposing an earthed metallic cover between the insulated conductors and a device case.
CONSTITUTION: Though an earth current flows through semiconductive layers 11 on a solid insulator 10 in the case of occurrence of dielectric breakdown, contact continuity can be kept good through metallic plates 12 between parts adjacent to the semiconductive layers 11. Further, a plurality of semiconductive layers 11 provided with continuity in this way are made to have continuity to an earthed metallic cover 17. Even if dielectric breakdown occurs at one part of the insulated conductors 2, an earth current quickly flows and the circuit is interrupted fast before occurrence of a large accident. Since an arc caused by the shorting of the circuit is enclosed inside the metallic cover before it attains to a device case, the danger to near-by passengers and things can be prevented.
