CONSTITUTION:A digital signal having been converted into the PCM signal is QPSK-modulated by a QPSK modulator 22, and is supplied to a recording amplifier 24 through a band pass filter 23. The output of the recording amplifier 24 is supplied to deep layer recording heads 25a, 25b through a rotary transformer, and is deep-layer-recorded in a magnetic tape TP by helical scanning. In a reproducing system, the outputs of the heads 25a, 25b are supplied to the band pass filter 27 through reproducing amplifiers 26a, 26b and the output of the band pass filter 27 is supplied to the band pass filter 14 and an automatic gain control amplifier 28. Thus, the switching noise is not generated at the changing stage of the head, and in addition, the video signal and the audio signal can be dealt with simultaneously.
