Abstract

PURPOSE:To ease the control and retrieval of recording information by providing a first area to record the still picture information of specified capacity and a second area to record a dynamic image. CONSTITUTION:The still picture of the specified capacity is recorded to a first area 2 of the back surface (recording surface) of a magneto-optical disk and the animation of variable capacity is recorded to a second area 3. As this result, any of a circle, a rectangle and a square is acceptable for the shape of a recording medium and recording can be executed with forming the optical recording track of a spiral shape, a circular arc shape or a linear shape. The second area 3 records the animation of the variable capacity, however, the still image of fixed capacity relating to the animation is recorded to the first area 2. Thus, the control and retrieval of the information can be easily executed.
