Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a lens array of uniform optical quality of respective lenses constituted by a simple means by retaining a plate material by means of dies divided into four pieces around a couple of punches, disposed facing opposedly and retained movably in the facing direction and carrying out forming. CONSTITUTION:Out of dies divided into four pieces, up and down and left and right sides around upper and lower side punches 20 and 21, the upper dies 35 and 36 are installed on an upper frame 39 through hydraulic devices 40 and 41. A lower die 37, out of the lower dies 37 and 38, faces the upper die 35, while the other lower die 38 is installed facing the upper die 36 on a lower frame 42 through a hydraulic device 43. The molding site of a plate material 60 placed between the upper and lower punches 20 and 21 by upper and lower actuators 23 and 24 are heat softened by shear heat generated by the vibration or the upper and lower punches. Then, the plate is compressed by forming surfaces 27 and 28 of the upper and lower punches, and a lens optical surface 61 is formed by said forming surface.
