Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a propeller shaft with a smaller crossing angle for greater ground clearance by having an input shaft, an intermediate shaft, and a front wheel output shaft paralleled with each other obliquely and providing a rear wheel output shaft on the opposite side of the front wheel output shaft which is positioned obliquely below the intermediate shaft. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 41, provided with a clutch hub 42 in its center and highspeed- and lowspeed-input gears 44, 45 on each side thereof respectively, is supported on the top part of case C by a bearing 43. Furthermore an intermediate shaft 48 provided respectively with each of intermediate gears 46, 47 meshing respectively with each of the input gears 44, 45 is supported on the case C by a bearing 49, at obliquely below the input shaft 41. Also a front wheel output shaft 50 having a clutch hub 51 is supported by a bearing 52 on the extension of an axis leading to the intermediate shaft 48 from the input shaft 41 and a front wheel output gear 53 meshing with one of the intermediate gears 46 is provided thereto. Furthermore a rear wheel output shaft 54 provided with a rear wheel output gear 55 meshing with the other intermediate gear 47 is provided obliquely below an intermediate shaft on the opposite side of the front wheel output shaft.
