Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the self-discharge and over-discharge shelf performance by containing alkali metal ions in an electrolyte and using a non-antimony alloy with the specific composition mainly composed of lead as a positive electrode lattice current collector. CONSTITUTION:Alkali metal ions are added to an electrolyte, a Pb electrode plate having elements of Ca<0.12wt.% and 0.2wt.%<=Sn<=15wt.% as a positive electrode lattice current collector, and a battery is heat-treated. alpha-PbO2 is generated on the boundary surface between a positive electrode lattice and an active material during the heat treatment to maintain the conductivity of the boundary surface between the lattice and the active material, on the other hand a high- resistance material is hardly generated. The over-discharge shelf performance and self-discharge performance can be thereby improved.
