Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure an invariably complete sectional shape without depending upon the surface shape of a body to be measured by allowing plural detectors to detect reflected light from a point on the surface of the body to be measured which is irradiated with light from a light source. CONSTITUTION:Projection light beams 12-1-12-7 from lenses 5-1-5-7 are projected on irradiation points of the body 2 to be measured. Reflected light beams from those irradiation points P-1-P-7 are photodetected by the photodetection surfaces of 1st and 2nd detectors 6-1-6-2. The array range of light sources and orientation positions of the 1st and 2nd detectors 6-1 and 6-2 are so selected that at least one of the 1st and 2nd photodetectors 6-1 and 6-2 detects reflected light from a range of projections and recesses which are formed possibly on the body 2 to be measured. Consequently, even if there is a projection 3 present on the surface of the body 2 to be measured, at least one detector 6-2 can photodetect the reflected light.
