Abstract
PURPOSE:To coat a baser metal on the surface of a Cu base material with high adhesiveness without deteriorating the electrical conductivity of the Cu base material to improve the corrosion resistance thereby by coating the base- metal on the surface of the Cu base material, then heating the material in an induction heating furnace, thereby forming the diffused layer of the base- metal. CONSTITUTION:Zn or the like as the metal baser than Cu is coated on the surface of brass pipes 1 or copper fins 2 and is acted as a sacrificial anode in order to improve the corrosion resistance of said pipes or fins at the time of producing a heat radiator by mounting the Cu fins 2 to the brass pipes 1. After the pipes or fins are coated with Zn, the pipes or fins are heated in the induction heating furnace in which an inert gaseous or reducing gaseous atmosphere is maintained, while the pipes or the fins are run in the furnace to diffuse the Zn into the brass or copper base and to intensity the adhesive power of the Zn film as well as to prevent the deterioration of the heat transfer characteristic and electrical conductivity which may arise from the formation of the diffused Zn layer.
