Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the cooling property and wear resistance of a cylinder liner to be obtained, by forming a layer of a specific wear-resistance plating such as chrome plating on the internal surface of a cylinder body made of beryllium-copper alloy. CONSTITUTION:A beryllium-copper alloy is cast, forged, and machined so as to be formed into the main body 3 of a cylinder linear 1. Subsequently, a wear- resistant plating layer 4 of one kind among the group consisting of a Cr plating layer, an Fe-P plating layer, a Ni-P plating layer, and a composite plating layer in which SiC grains or BN grains are uniformly dispersed in an Ni-P plating is formed by means of electroplating or electroless plating on the internal surface 2 of the above body 3. By the above constitution, the cylinder liner 1 excellent in cooling property and wear resistance and capable of providing high power can be obtained, and moreover, further thinning is made possible since the body 3 has superior hardness and cooling property can be improved to a greater extent.
