Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a method for inserting wefts in jet looms capable of preventing the tip ends of waiting wefts from intertwisting with running wefts by directing the nozzles ready for insertion selected from a plurality of inserting nozzles to slightly jet before and after the beginning of jetting the wefts and by stopping the selected nozzles to slightly jet while allowing other nozzles to insert the wefts. CONSTITUTION: This method is conducted by: switch-controlling the respective solenoid valves 5A, 5B, 10A and 10B designed to control the air supplies to weft inserting main nozzles 1A and 1B and an auxiliary nozzle 4 according to weft inserting patterns previously input into a control computer C; and in the case of alternately inserting wefts Y1 and Y2, allowing the weft inserting nozzle 1A to slightly jet before and after the beginning of jetting the weft and stopping the nozzle 1A to slightly jet while the other main nozzle 1B jets the weft, thus preventing the tip ends of the wefts waiting for insertion from intertwisting with the wefts in process of insertion and restraining the mistakes of the weft insertion to the same level of those of a single insertion.
