Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the distortion of a fingerprint image due to properties intrinsic to a finger to pick a finger-print image free from variance by turning on a detector to pick up the image at the time of obtaining a minute distortion of the finger in a certain direction. CONSTITUTION:When a finger 1 is pressed on a surface 2a of a transparent body 2 to expand a spring 4 in the direction of an arrow 14, force 10 is generated in the transparent body 2 by the finger 1. The force 10 is divided into a component 12 of force in the vertical direction and a component 11 of force in the horizontal direction from an action point 16 of the finger 1. The component 11 of force overcomes the force of the spring 4 to pull a supporting part 3 up to the position of a detector 5 and is required to hold the detector 5 turned on, and the component 12 of force is required to prevent the finger from sliding on the surface 2a of the transparent body 2. Components 11 and 12 of force act to give a certain distortion independently of the characteristics intrinsic to the finger. Thus, since a minute distortion in a certain direction is applied to the finger on the contracting surface 2a between the finger and the transparent body 2, the fingerprint image is always picked up as a fixed image.
