Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect overvoltage between DC bus bars for an inverter main circuit in a stable state, by detecting it through the secondary side winding of an insulating transformer owned by a switching power source which constitutes a power source for a control circuit. CONSTITUTION:An inverter device is composed of a rectification circuit 1 of a three-phase AC power source 2, a smoothing capacitor 3 and an inverter main circuit 6 as a power inverter, with which an induction motor 7 is driven as a load. This inverter device is equipped with a switching power source 8 to be a power source for a control circuit, which is composed of an insulating transformer 9, a switching circuit 10, a rectification circuit 11, a voltage stabilization circuit 12, etc. A voltage detection circuit 20 connects a series circuit of a diode 21 and a smoothing capacitor 22 between a tap 9c on the nongrounded neutral side in the secondary side winding 9b of the insulating transformer 9 and an earthing terminal. This circuit 20 detects induced voltage during the ON period the switching circuit 10 and outputs an overvoltage detection signal Sa with a comparator 25.
